1. Introduction
This tutorial guides you through the functionality of custom datasets in the Explore element. Use custom datasets to visualize data in your Widget in addition to the data fetched from your Datastreams.
Achieve the following goals with custom datasets:
- Add a metric and assign it a value.
- Add a metric and dimension and assign it a value.
- Add a target value or a benchmark. Display a horizontal line in your widget so that you can visually compare all data in the widget against a target value or a benchmark.
2. Adding a target value or benchmark
To add a target value or benchmark to your Widget, follow these steps:
- In Explore, add metrics and dimensions from the list on the left.
- In the table below, right-click one of the cells in a metric column and visualize it.
- In Data sets, click + Custom.
- Add a metric and specify the target value.
- Click Create.
- On the right, click Customize
button.
- Below the visualization preview, open your custom metric setting tab.
- (Optional) Change the color of the metric in the Color field.
- Enable Show as plot line.
- Enable Show in front.
