USER PROFILES / ADMINISTRATION
"Which credentials do I log in with if I have both Datatap and Insights?"
If you have a Datatap and Insights account, and they’re linked to the same email address, then you’ll have SSO. If they’re different, you still have access to everything, but will need to sign into each (e.g. moving from Connect to Explore). In this case, for SSO, you’ll need to create a different account in one of the modules with the same email address as the other (easy to do in Datatap).
"Does this mean I have to use the full platform (e.g. Insights for visualization)?"
No, we’re still retaining a hybrid approach. You can continue to just use the Datatap elements with third party destinations, if you want to. We’ve just made it much easier and more beneficial to start using the Insights elements if you want to.
"Where can I create a new user that has access on all three products?"
Currently, you need to create one user account with the same email address for Datatap and Insights. In the future this will be centrally administered.
"How does this affect my shared dashboard users and their access? Links already shared with them will remain the same?"
All shared dashboard user settings will remain the same, and shared URLs will still work.
"Will this release change the way product modules are licensed?"
Nothing changes - you won’t need to swap your Datatap licence for a Connect, Enrich and Transfer licence, for example. Your Datatap licence will open up whatever capability you currently have access to, but within the new elements.
"What exactly is meant by a gradual rollout within the next 2-3 weeks?"
This will be communicated as part of your dedicated account roll-out plan - please check with your Account Manager for further details.
"What are Media Screenshots?"
Media screenshots were formerly known as “Screenshots”. It represents a gallery of Screenshots Datatap generated of creatives from advertising platforms, such as Facebook Ads. Further documentation can be found here.
"What are Smart Naming Conventions?"
Smart Naming Conventions is an exciting feature coming up in April. It will help you in monitoring naming convention compliance. We'll be releasing an update on all benefits this feature will include in the upcoming weeks.
"What are Datastream templates?"
Datastream templates are a new feature we are releasing alongside our new interface, allowing you to quickly create Datastreams according to certain requirements without having to configure anything in detail, taking into consideration all API restrictions that might exist. You can choose any of the existing templates which are marked as “provided by Adverity”, or create your own.
"What is the Reveal tab?"
Reveal is an update to our product we launched this year. It offers AI-backed recommendations and visualizations based on your marketing data. If you would like to receive further information about this element, please get in contact with your account manager or visit our product page.
"Can we get a free trial of the new parts of the platform (Present, Reveal etc.)?"
If you interested in any of the parts of the platform that you are not yet using, please reach out to your account manager - they will be happy to demonstrate and discuss in further detail how you might be able to start using them.
"What will happen to my existing Datastreams and Connections?"
Nothing will change here. Everything will remain the same when you log in to the platform for the first time. So, when you enter the Connect element, your Datastreams and connections will be there, waiting for you, as they were.
"Will users have to retrain to use the new platform?"
There’s no in-depth retraining needed as there would be with a completely new product. The processes and workflows for all tasks haven’t changed, just how you navigate to them. Users will need to know how how to get to those processes and the information they need, but that should be a relatively fast learning experience. After that it’s just about understanding the new enhancements, such as datastream templates, which is typical of every new release. A quick overview of changes can be found here.
"Will performance be affected?"
The new UI concerns enhanced user experience through modified navigation and introduces new elements, such as Datastream Templates - none of the underlying functionality or product performance will be affected.
"How will the Datatap Management API be affected?"
Not at all. Everything will still be working as before.
"How does the Workspace linking between Datatap and Insights work?"
Workspaces are linked automatically by taking various meta information from the backend into consideration. If no particular link can be obtained, the last visited Workspace is used as a backup default.
"I don’t like the new UI, can I stay on the existing one?"
Your environment will not change until you have been transitioned as part of the dedicated roll-out plan. From that point on, it will no longer be possible to revert to the old interface. If you have concerns about the transition, please let your Account Manager know.
"What will change for shared dashboard users?"
Nothing will change for them. Everything will remain as-is.
"Where will I now find menus such as Mediaplan, Campaign Monitor and KPI Management?"
Mediaplan and Campaign Monitor can be found within the Plan element, and KPI Management is now in the centralized administration area for the Insights module elements, so Explore and Present. Everything is still there, you just need to know in which element. A quick overview of changes can be found here.
