Adverity supports Two-factor authentication as an additional security layer. On stacks with enabled Two-factor authentication users are required to use a six-digit token provided by their mobile device additionally to the password in order to log in.
Note: If you want to install an authenticator app on 2 devices, see the additional instructions at the end of this article.
REQUIRED APPS
- In order to scan the QR-code on the screen, you need to install an app on your mobile device that supports the scanning of QR-Codes like Barcode Scanner
- Additionally you need an app that supports time-based security tokens based on RFC6283 standard. This can be Google Authenticator for Android or Authenticator for iPhone
INITIAL TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION LOGIN
- Go to adverity login page
- Enter your account e-mail and your password, click the Login button
- Follow the instructions for scanning QR code and insert the token into the form
RECURRING TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION LOGIN
- Go to adverity login page
- Enter your account e-mail and your password, click the Login button
- Open the authentication app on your mobile device
- Enter the six-digit token number displayed on your authentication app into the form and click Validate
PLEASE NOTE
- Should you change your mobile device, you will need to contact your Company Administrator to reset the Two-factor authentication
- The codes of the Two-factor authentication app are being updated every minute. Make sure that the time settings of your device are correct as tokens between your device and Adverity Insights might not be matching otherwise.
SETTING UP AUTHENTICATOR ON 2 DEVICES
- You can set up Google Authenticator so that you can generate verification codes from more than one device.
- Make sure that you have Google Authenticator downloaded on all devices that you want to use.
- Go to the 2-Step Verification page.
- If you've already set up Google Authenticator for your account, delete that account from Authenticator so you can start fresh. If you have not yet set up Google Authenticator, skip to the next step.
- Follow directions as usual to set up 2-Step Verification for the mobile app, making sure to either scan the generated QR code or enter the generated secret key on all devices that you want to set up.
- Check to make sure that all devices are working correctly by entering the verification codes from each device and clicking Verify. Then click Save.
