A Role represents the level of access granted to a user for different parts and functions of the Adverity platform.
Whenever you create a role, ensure that it is created on the correct Workspace.
The following permissions are available:
- Dashboard
- Explore
- Import
- Transform
- Plan
- Manage
- Workspace Administrator
To simplify user management, many companies only have two generic roles that are created at the company level: Admin and Non-Admin, the latter having all permissions except Business Admin.
VIEW EXISTING ROLES
- From the Explore, Present, or Reveal Element, open the Workspace Picker > Administration.
- Select Roles in the left-hand menu to see a list of all existing Roles and a checklist of the permissions assigned to each.

- Click Show on a specific Role, and here you can update the name, permissions and also see which users currently hold this role.

CREATE NEW ROLES
- From the Explore, Present, or Reveal Element, open the Workspace Picker > Administration.
- Select Roles in the left-hand menu to see a list of all existing Roles, then click + Add role.

- Enter a name for the role, and use the tick box list to assign the permissions you wish to grant. Click Create to finalize the role.

NOTE: You can also create a role with multiple permissions (e.g. View Dashboards + Explore Mode + Plan Mode). Just tick the necessary boxes in the desired combination.
